Chilean frigate Almirante Condell (PFG-06) was a Condell-class frigate of the Chilean Navy, and was the third ship in the Chilean Navy to bear this name. She is a refitted Leander-class frigate ordered by the Chilean government in 1969 as an ASW frigate, together with Almirante Lynch. The class was built between 1969 and 1973, under Chilean modifications at Yarrow Shipbuilders in Scotstoun, Glasgow. The Almirante Condell was delivered to Chile in 1973. She was decommissioned on 11 December 2007. In March 2008, she was sold to Ecuador, along with her sister ship Almirante Lynch, and re-named BAE Eloy Alfaro (FM 01). Cheetah C.

14 Desember 2010 -- BUMN Afrika Selatan Denel Aviation umumkan menjual 12 jet tempur Cheetah C ke Equador, Minggu (12/12). Kesepakatan penjualan diteken oleh CEO Denel Aviation Mike Kgobe di ibu kota Equador, Quito.

Jet tempur Cheetah C dan D telah dipensiunkan AU Afsel pada 2008, digantikan jet tempur Saab Gripen dibawah program paket Strategic Defence.

Proses negosiasi Denel Aviation, Armscor dan AU Equador berlangsung sejak 2009. Tim AU Equador berkunjung ke Afsel pada April 2010 guna mengecek armada Cheetah dan menyaksikan serangkaian uji penerbangan. Armscor perusahaan negara yang bertanggung jawab menjual peralatan dan produk militer.

Denel Aviation (sebelumnya Atlas Aircraft Corporation) kontraktor utama pembuatan Cheetah, varian dari Dassault Mirage III pada pertengahan era-1980an dan pemegang hak disain pesawat.

Perbaikan menyeluruh dan uji terbang akan dilakukan di Afsel dan Equador. Tim ahli Denel Aviation telah berkunjung ke fasilitas AU Equador guna mempelajari kemampuan infrastruktur dan teknis AU Equador dalam mengoperasikan Cheetah, serta mengevaluasi tingkat bantuan dan mengidentifikasi pelatihan yang diperlukan.

Harga penjualan 12 pesawat tidak diumumkan, tetapi sebelumnya pemerintah Equador menyiapkan anggaran 35 juta dolar untuk program ini, tetapi diperkirakan lebih dari 35 juta dolar.
