In mid-May 2011 Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian company "Motor Sich" Vyacheslav Boguslayev said that the Russian Defense Ministry has decided to abandon the purchase of transport Il-112V in favor of modification of passenger cargo aircraft An-140.
